1 MONTH FEED SUPPLY

What do you get when you mix 40 years of worm experience, a devotion to improving the quality of your product, and an eccentric drive for success? You get Uncle Jim’s very own, specialized worm feed recipe! (trust me, it adds up) Day after day, Uncle Jim would search and experiment with various foods, grains, materials, products, and feed, until 40 years later, he perfected his worm recipe. This material is the very food that we feed the worms on the farm. It is nutritious, organic, tasty, and will leave your worms salivating for more! This food keeps your worms parasite-free, healthy, and organic. Never before has a worm feed been so meticulously perfected. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • This supply will feed about 500 to 1000 worms for roughly 1 month.
  • 500 to 1000 worms will eat about 1 cup of food every day or 2.
  • Simply pour the food, almost in a line, right on top.
  • The worms are top feeders and will smell to food then come to the surface to eat.
  • Bag weighs approximately 4 pounds.
  • Store at room temperature.

BURLAP COVERING

Burlap makes a great breathable “blanket” to act as a cover for your worm bin. It it always good to try to keep the bin dark, that is what the worms like!

Worm bin starter kit

Got the bin started up, a lot of worms escaped and died. I wish instructions were included; despite prior research I did on my end it would have been helpful. This is my first time composting and raising worms. Will continue to order from Jim’s.

What Was I Thinking?

I got a Biovessel from Bionicraft for Christmas. My Starter Kit was to fill my Biovessel. It worked. I also use the feed I got to supplement the kitchen scraps if I don't have enough. Uncle Jim's Worm Farm was one of the suppliers suggested. I would like to suggest that Uncle Jim create a kit that is specifically designed for the Biovessel. It would make in home composting so much easier. I was grateful for the ingredients that Uncle Jim supplied. Also, I love my compost pail, lots of room for veggie waste and it doesn't smell.

worms worms worms

high quality products--I had to liberate all my worms last summer after ten plus years of happy productive worming so finding a company that had exactly what I needed (at reasonable prices) to restart the farm was very nice! thank you

Excellent Starter Kit

Uncle Jim's "Worm Bin Starter/Refill Kit" is an excellent value, even more so when factoring the free shipping. The small coconut coir brick that came with the kit broke down and expanded greatly after I soaked it in a bucket of warm water for 1 hour. I took what was in the bucket and dumped it into an inexpensive styrofoam cooler that I purchased at a local convenience store. In went 100 of Uncle Jim's famous red wiggler worms. On the top of the coconut coir mixture, I spread two tablespoons of the worm food that was included with the kit then I placed the pre-cut burlap (also included in the kit), which I moistened, on top. All told, the kit was very easy to set up. I feed the worms every few days and so far, several weeks later, all seem to be thriving!
